CEO - Gefen Publishing House

Ilan Greenfield was born in Israel to Murray and Hana Greenfield. Studies in Tel Aviv and joined the IDF for three years as a medic in the paratroopers.

 

Following his military service he studied in Fullerton College and became a Zionist activist on campus in California. He joined TELEM as treasurer 1980-1982.

 

In 1982 Ilan returned to Israel to serve in the reserves.

 

Ilan completed a tour guide course and became a certified Israeli tour guide in 1984.

 

Upon his return Ilan joined his family publishing company, Gefen Publishing House and has consequently managed the company. His Brother joined him until his passing in 2013.

 

Gefen Publishing House is Israel's' leading publisher with many important and outstanding titles. Among them The Letters of Jonathan Netanyahu, Yonis Last Battel by Iddo Netanyahu, Flags Over the Warsaw Ghetto by Israel's former Minister of Defense, Moshe Arens, several books by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach known as Rabbi of America. Gefen has also published And Every Single One Was Someone, a unique book with the word JEW 6,000,000 – a book which has received a NY Times front page coverage and has been praised by many leaders of the world including PM Netanyahu, Elie Wiesel, VP Mike Pence and many more.

 

In the year 2000 Greenfield played a leading role in establishing the Ein Prat Leadership Academy, a pioneering program for high school graduates which encourages social action and political awareness.

 

In 2017 Gefen founded together with Behrman House a children's imprint – Apples & Honey Press, today a leading publisher of Jewish children's' books.

 

Ilan is a marathon runner for the past twenty years.

 

Ilan lives in Kfar Adumim, a settlement between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea overlooking the Judean Desert with his wife Caryn and their four children.
